today was a rainy day, so i decided to go to target. beside me in the card aisle were 2 girls chatting away… i wasn’t paying much attention until i heard:

“so what if i got a burn and some blisters, i will never stop tanning.”

EXCUSE ME?!

if it were not incredibly inappropriate for me to slap a total stranger, let alone a 15 year old.. i would have.

doesn’t she get it?

i could go on and on and on… ask any of my friends who choose to use tanning salons, they’ve heard it from me.

don’t get me wrong, i love the sun. i love being tan. but i also love my neutrogena spf 55.

last month, during a quick visit to my alma mater – penn state – i joined some of my favorites for a few beers and teas at the cafe

i was sharing some stories about work… the good, the bad, the ridiculous… and then they said it:

“you should blog”

i had my doubts… i mean, who really cares about my life.

but then, i went grocery shopping at 5:30pm.

yes i knew before i went it was going to be busy with people on their way home from work, but i needed milk (i’m having a love affair with raisin bran crunch – try it, you won’t regret it). it was a gorgeous day – so i decided i would walk. a nice relaxing walk to the grocery store. i took my time shopping, i decided while i was there i’d get some things to last beyond the current day (ie my $5 purchase was turning into a $40 one). i’m not always a fan of self check-out, i consistently seem to get stuck behind someone who can’t work it and had no business trying to check themselves out to begin with. but there was no line – so i scan all my items, and then i realize something. i forgot my wallet. there is now a somewhat significant line forming behind me – i don’t blame them for getting in my aisle, i looked like a capable girl – someone that wouldn’t hold anyone up.

in case you forgot, i walked to the grocery store. but i didn’t mind. i ran home, i ran back, i paid, i walked out and low and behold my gorgeous day had now turned into a downpour. people, i can’t make this up.

and this is why i have decided to blog – because stories like that need to be shared.
