today was a rainy day, so i decided to go to target. beside me in the card aisle were 2 girls chatting away… i wasn’t paying much attention until i heard:
“so what if i got a burn and some blisters, i will never stop tanning.”
EXCUSE ME?!
if it were not incredibly inappropriate for me to slap a total stranger, let alone a 15 year old.. i would have.
doesn’t she get it?
- just 1 severe sunburn as a child doubles your chances of developing melanoma
- melanoma is the 3rd most common cancer in women
- tanning bed exposure increases melanoma risk by 75%
i could go on and on and on… ask any of my friends who choose to use tanning salons, they’ve heard it from me.
don’t get me wrong, i love the sun. i love being tan. but i also love my neutrogena spf 55.
